I found out that Mork has 'compensated partial renal failure.' In other words, he's got congenital kidney disease. My veterinarian expects his first crisis to happen within a year - she refuses to give me a life expectancy until after we get him through said crisis and see how he does. It sounds more like she won't be able to give me a real answer until the second crisis - it's a question of how well does he handle the crisis, and how long is their palliative treatment effective.
Mork died Wednesday, August 11th, 1999 at approximately 8:30 PM. Cause of death was his kidney disease. He fell asleep on one of the chairs in the living room, and never woke up. He was not a good candidate for the palliative treatment - he'd lost too much weight in the previous six weeks.
Mork and Chela got haircuts on May 22, 1999. Here are some pictures of them with short hair.
