1. Open Outlook Express.
2. Click on Tools menu.
Select Accounts…
Click on the Mail tab.
3. Click the Add button and select Mail…
4. Enter your name in Display name field. Click Next.
5. Enter your email address in E-mail address field. (Ex:
userid@iaxs.net or userid@company.com)
Click Next.
6. My incoming mail server is a POP3 server.
Incoming and Outgoing (SMTP) mail servers are: mail.iaxs.net
if your email address ends with @iaxs.net or
mail.company.com if your email address ends with @compay.com.
Click Next.
7. Enter your email user name in Account Name. This
is usually everything before the @ symbol. (Ex jsmith if your
email address is jsmith@iaxs.net) Enter your password in the Password
field and click on the Remember password box if you don’t want
to enter your password to get your mail. Click Next.
8. In Internet mail account name field enter your name
or email address. (Ex John Smith or jsmith@iaxs.net)
This field can be anything you want, but if you have multiple accounts,
or accounts on other services also, you want it to be descriptive.
Click Next.
9. If you connect to the Internet through a network (ISDN and
DSL), select Connect using my local area network (LAN).
If you use a modem to dial in, select Connect using my phone
line and in the Use the following Dial-Up Networking Connection
field select your connection for Infinity AccessNET. Usually named
Infinity or may be named something else.
Click Finish.
10. Select the profile that you created and click Properties.
If you have a business name, enter it in the Organization
field. This is a generic text field and can be upper and lower case.
If you wish a copy of email to be left on the server, select the
Advanced tab, and click on the box in front of Leave a copy
of messages on server. Click on the box Remove from server
after 5 days. You can change this number if you
wish.
Click Ok then Close.
Tips:
-To send email that is in your Outbox or check for new mail,
click the Send/Receive button.
-You can import old mail and address books from most programs.
To do this select File and then Import.
-If you are on a network connection, select Tools then Options.
Click the Send tab. Check the box Send messages immediately.
