Infinity AccessNET Introduces 56K dialins

UPDATED 03/6/2000

Infinity AccessNET is proud to introduce a 56K compatible dialin service. This new service brings the connection in as entirely digital from the moment it reaches your phone company's central office.

Currently our dialins support K56Flex and V.90. V.90 should work with Lucent, 3Com, and Rockwell chipset modems.

If you have a USR x2 modem, you will need to upgrade your modem to V.90 to achieve connect rates above 33.6k. Please see our 56K dialup support for more information.

Infinity AccessNET is in the process of converting our entire dialup service to 56K. Please see our dialup number change announcement for more information. Even without a new 56K modem, you should notice an increase in connect speed, throughput, and connection reliability, due to the entire conversion from phone line to our backbone being done with digital signal processors in the digital domain, rather than traditional analog modem technology.

The new dialin number for 56K connections is (952) 253-5324, you can easily change the dialed phone number of your existing connection profile within Dialup Networking.

Note that as is always the case with new technologies, you might experience a few bumps on the road. For example, your actual connect speed will vary depending on the quality of your local copper pairs and in-house wiring, and your distance from the phone company's central office in your area. K56Flex and V.90 connections could also be less reliable than regular V.34 connections.

For more information on tuning your 56K dialup, please see our 56K dialup support page.
